From 2013 upto 2022 the Zion Community had been working without light or electricity. Simple everyday tasks, like charging electronic devices or taking care of patients after sunset, came with great challenges or were impossible. We had to operate without any electronic devices and treatment had to be done by using a headlamp.
Great thanks to our volunteer Oliver and wellwishers from Denmark, that fundraised 5.5 million Ugandan Shillings (~1400 €), we were able to install a solar system. This has helped to improve our community and health services. We are now able to provide care during night shifts and use our electronic microscope hence improving our diagnosis for malaria and other diseases. It has also enabled us to use laptops and printing for better patient documentation and administrative tasks.
We want to thank everyone, that supported us with lighting up the facilities and electronic devices. This has taken our health services and lives to another level.
