In Uganda parents have to pay school fees to enable their children to go to school and strive for a better life. Unfortunatly, some families canĀ“t afford the fees and their children have to drop out of school. Without the chance of any education, they easily slide into gambling and drinking.
The furniture project was invented to support these young children. Here, they get the chance to work in our wood workshop in the heart of the Zion Community centre and learn new skills. Together with our teachers, they get to build furniture like doors, windows, tables and beds that are highly sought after in this region. This way, we offer them a chance to earn a living as a carpenter and joiner and to enjoy the life in a welcoming social circle.
We always love to welcome volunteers from abroad that want to be part of this project. Great thanks to everyone that has become part of the Zion Community and that is sharing our vision and dreams.
